stanford

i'm in stanford this weekend, writing for sa-venues and even though i am very hungover, after partying with my mother and her friends in her private bar, with the all too easy to access vodca, i have managed to snap some cool atmospheric pics. i spent the morning having coffee and brunch in my mother's al fresco cafe, 'klein rivier cafe' where i chatted with no less than two other journalists who were there too, getting the scoop on this beautiful cafe.

please have a look at my stanford collage on flickr here.

Oh! I adore Stanford! Is that antique shop that sells all the old plumbing fixtures still there?

Every day I look forward to your blog & am never disappointed. Have gone from having never heard of Stanford to it being up there with Essaouira Morrocco in my wishlist of destinations. What sort of camera did you use for your photo's? I also love the print of the pudding bowl on the wall of the Bistro. Can you tell me where its from? Thanks for a really fresh, varied & inspirational blog.

Thank you Noelle!!! Thats the best comment I've ever had on my now 5 month old blog! To answer your questions, I use a Samsung digital camera called a PRO815 which was R5000 when I bought it, but is probably now the same price as a Canon, so I would suggest you rather go with the Canon if you thinking of buying. The pudding bowl and other prints have made a local Stanford photographer and artists famous (he is a weekender in Stanford) and they are available for purchase, if only I could remember his name! Where are you, where do you stay? Did you take a look at the rest of the photo's of Stanford in my Flickr group?

Thank you again for writing xx

I'm sure his name is Steven Ing - the artist?

Have seen your photos on Flickr & they are great. Am looking for a new digital as mine has just died.
Congratulations on your new shop in Stanford - yet another reason to visit. I am however currently living near London teaching Art & Design at a college. My Mom lives in George and my sister in Cape Town, so when next in the country Stanford will definately be on the itinerary. The only Steven Ing I can find on Google is an endocrinologist from Columbia Ohio. But he could be leading a fascinating & varied life.
