engaging on convo with a customer today, after selling her a tiny olive green bamboo bird cage, i suggested that she cut out bird silhouettes from cardboard and hang them inside the cage at different lengths. it prompted me suggest some uses for paper cut out birds and how they can have an impact in your home.
all you'll need is cardboard, a cutting board, a blade and some string to begin with. trace your favourite bird silhouettes from pictures and cut them out.
using cut out birds as a chandelier over a simple light fitting will be a breathtaking feature in any room. create cut outs of birds in cardboard a different colour from your walls and place them together to create an impact. create paper birds to mark your dinner guests places at the table. make your own terrarium with small paper birds, glued on wire seemingly flying above the foliage. create a paper bird still life or have them hanging together in a flock for a real show stopper. i suggest listening to andrew bird while you're at it x

Love this post. So beautiful! Do you know where that image of the white paper birds was taken? I would love to create something similar with about 1,500 of those birds but would need to hire a company to cut them out. suggestions??
thanks-
