images from we heart itpainfully beautiful and achingly sexy, johnny depp will always top my most beautiful man alive list. not only a talented theatrical performer but a true beatnik, johnny continues to intruige us with his powerful air of mystery and sex appeal. this idiosyncratic actor and musician is an intellectual and a deep thinker, setting him apart from hollywood's cheap celebrities.

i've been sketching my nights away in preparation for the spring folklore range and am loving looks like these at the moment. images taken from the lovely miss moss blog, a.p.c., we heart it and lookbook.
i love the original simplicity of lou lou's creations in her etsy shop, super duper things. i also like the way she styles her shots and photographs her goodies. love your stuff, lou lou!
i received the prize yesterday that i won on the lucky pony blog in the 'hidden secret' giveaway and giggled with glee at the beautiful things angie had put inside my envelope. the prize not only included the most beautiful girl and bear print by eloise, but also included surprise gifts of a mini print, gift tag and mirror! thank you so much angie and eloise, i will frame them beautifully and show you how they look on my wall xxx p.s. thank you for the bow :)

pretty vintage are a hiring place that have some up with the brilliant idea of hiring out vintage crockery, especially for weddings. i wonder what kind of deposit one needs to put down for these beauts? i found pretty vintage via daydream lily
don't cry for me, ...i only found the most amazing things at charity stores ever today! how insanely rad is the leather unicorn engraved bag? and the tin? and how about the deer pair rescued from my friends mother's figurine collection throw aways?

i spent some time today becoming aquainted with the sweetest enclave of shops, restaurants and businesses in chelsea village, wynberg. the charming hamlet took it's name and aesthetics from chelsea in london, which was the place i used to visit when i was miserable, broke and cold, as you are when you live in london! i found this lovely guide to our local chelsea on sa-venues. be sure to pop in at the orchid cafe when you're there and check out all the real life stepford and desperate housewives with their twinsets, pearls, highlights and designer handbags from milan. oh my god, i laughed inside, until i remembered they live in R30 000 000 estates in bishopscourt. the coffee was brilliant and so was my 'desperate housewife' snack...i kid you not.
i discovered this charming children's restaurant and creative space, situated in new york, via one of my favourites blogs, all the mountains. i borrowed some images from moomah's website and from an article about the space on design sponge. moomah offers creative classes and activities as well as healthy food for children which is something we are still waiting to see on offer here in south africa, where parents are given a choice of feeding their children burgers or fish fingers and chips, no matter how swanky the restaurant is. i mean, who actually feeds their children fries/chips at home? moomah offers children a healthy experience in dining with dishes such as whole wheat pancakes, whole grain waffles and fresh fruit always on offer.
did you have a good weekend? the highlight of mine was walking for 3 hours with friends and all our dogs on a stunning 'winter's' day, then having lunch looking out onto the tranquil waters of the yacht basin in simonstown. i promised to take my son ice-skating after and even though every muscle in my body aches today, it feels good. today is another perfect day in the mother city and i'm going to grab it with both hands. have a great day!

'the make lounge' in london, offers contemporary craft workshops with a stylish, social twist – plus hen events, parties, and corporate gatherings. 'the make lounge' has recently added a retail store with everything a crafty girl could ever want. i know a few people who'd be here everyday! my friends and i have a craft group called 'bitchcraft' where we get together to learn new crafting skills or simply to enjoy a time dedicated purely to crafting. i know we'd love to have a permanent place to attend workshops, do craft and buy all the goodies we need.
our resident model, the gorgeous samantha laura kaye, sent me some pics of her recent holiday on mauritius where she showed off her skermunkil bird necklace from beatnik bazaar! thanks sam, wish we had sneaked there in your suitcase. keep watching sam's blog this weekend for an extra special post...
