the owner of milk and i are creating our first window together, inspired in part by 'the loeries.' i've been offered the most wonderful opportunities this past week, including my first (ok not first, but that was for glamour magazine before i even had a store) personal interview for an amazing glossy fashion magazine and another incredible offer that i don't want to speak about yet! my shop has been in so many glossy mags and appeared on so many blogs but i have never really been interviewed, so i'm really excited. the interview gave me the opportunity to talk about my christmas wishlist and loads of other things that will be accompanied by gorgeous images that i know you'll love. i'll tell you all about it closer to the time!

genie miller, i like your style

pretoria is home to tons of creative talent of late but this is the first time i've found an independent fashion shoot on lookbook by residents of the area. i haven't been able to find out much information about genie miller, but it seems that a relative of hers took these images, which i found on his website: leonard miller. all i know about genie is that she's seventeen. i'm always amazed at teenagers who are this talented and creative already! we look forward to more 'looks' and gorgeous photoshoots.

after hiding away with 3 seasons of 'true blood,' the highlight of my weekend was driving out to samantha in stellenbosch after demanding her rasberry and white chocolate cupcakes on twitter. luckily she got the hint and made two trays full.

and the bride wore skermunkil

maaike, the incredible photographer from her own company 'we love pictures,' recently tied the knot herself and we've been waiting patiently to view her beautiful wedding. i see she's posted a few pics so far on her blog and i noticed her love for skermunkil jewellery! i also have a few pieces left in the shop, including a few exquisite brooches. i can't wait to pour over every picture from maaike's wedding, but i have one pertinent question; who was taking the photo's while they were getting married? i hope maaike can tell us!

known as an 'indie darling,' zooey deschanel is one of my style icons because she has an obvious passion for vintage glamour which isn't polluted by gauche brands. her love of sweet frocks and pencil skirts, teamed with flowy blouses graduates with ease to exquisite evening dresses for swanky red carpet affairs. zooey and my beatnik model, samantha, look so similar as well, making zooey the perfect beatnik woman! zooey manages to express her quirky personality as the actress we loved so much in '500 days of summer' in the way she dresses, and as the lead singer in the band 'she & him.' i look forward to seeing her in many more inspiring outfits.
